December 3rd + some jewelry + a surprise for all the crazy cat-ladies in the end!

Teemu's parents babysitted Ruu for the whole day, I had a doctor appointment and spend the rest of the day at home. Didn't get much done. Though I added some of my jewelry for sale to Facebook and Etsy. That is always the most boring thing to do. I have loads of jewelry waiting for photographing and adding for sale.. Recently I have made some "lovers" earrings and more skeletons and other stuff of shrink plastic.

Custom-made piece of jewelry for a new-born baby-girl. I drew the fox by myself.

Custom-made jewel for a Sister-fan-girl. This is the logo of the band.

The Frankenstein's monster and his lovely bride. Drew the original pictures by myself.

Scarlett and Rhett.
Once again; originals drawn by me.

Ken and Barbie.
Drawn by me.
Skeleton pendant, drawn by me.

The Week of Life - project

I red about an interesting project from a camera-magazine. It is an old one, but I heard from it for the very first time. It is called Week of Life. The idea is taking 9 photos every day for a week (or longer time). The photos should show bits from one's everyday life and they should be horizontal.

The whole project was founded by Czech photographer Adolf Zika, who got Leica D-Lux 3 compact camera in 2006 and decided to start taking documentary photos from his own life every day for an year. The compact camera followed him 24 hours a day, into all of his daily activities. The founding idea behind Week of Life is to contribute to a “world photo archive of humanity”.

There is a website, where anyone can post their own weeks of life. Check it out here: http://weekoflife.com And to read more about the project, see the following link: http://weekoflife.com/en/aboutproject.aspx

So, I got very excited about this, and am joining the project. I will be posting some photos here too!

December 2nd

We saw Teemu at work; he came to sand the playpark with the yellow tractor. It was icy there. Ruu probably wants to be a tractor-driver when he grows up...

Piece of Mulled wine-ginger bread-cheesecake I baked, with mulled wine syrup.

Lately I've been baking way too much. I should really control myself or soon my clothes won't fit me anymore. :F It is this dark and cold, depressing season which forces me to bake cakes and eat sugar more than necessary!! It is 3 p.m. and it's already getting dark! UGH!

All the world is green*

* it is! And it's also a song by Tom Waits.

Hi there!

I haven't been too hardworking with my blog lately, eh... That's mostly because I've been missing 1.) The Right Mood and also 2.) Time and Energy. But here I am now!

The world has turned to green!! We have had loads of warm, sunny days in Helsinki and we've visited a play park almost every day with Ruu.Today I saw the first house martins (swallows) of this summer! It was awesome, for me they've always meant that the summer has begun. I love their shrieking voices!

Forests are full of wood anemones

The birch leaves grew fast, as every spring.
Oh, how I've missed the sound of wind and rustling leaves!

A mute swan we saw a week ago.

Some crazy art work in the forests of Kauniainen.

Me posing!

There is a lovely park and a small river near to our home.
There lives some pretty tame mallards and other water birds.
The photo was taken in April, when it wasn't so warm and green yet...
Feeding a mallard.

Mommy's little helper hoovering
and wearing the best accessory ever (my -clean- underpants around his neck...)(-_-)

Aaand some more photos of my lil muffin...

I drew some stickers to Ann-Marie!
Some postcards I sent on the other day.
I've started postcrossing again, which is fun, but probably extremely stupid, since I don't seem to have enough time even for my long-term penpals... But I've never said that I was a very rational person...

One of our local libraries was closed during the renovation and they had plenty of books they sold away for ridiculously low price. I paid 1 euro for these.
For ALL OF THESE.
I found some comics, novels and couple of books to cut up and be used in decos.

And that's all for now. I hope you are having a great weekend! Cheers!

Ps. There is about to start a thunder storm!! There are lightning and rumbling outside, it looks and sounds amazing. I L-O-V-E THUNDER STORMS!! And I love summer.

Sunny days and deco-times!

Yellow Hellow!

The spring has finally arrived!! For the last two days the weather has been sunny and warm and wonderful! On this week I've seen my first flowers and butterflies and bugs of this year! And still I've been terribly tired. :( I don't know is it the sleep dept from the past year or something else. It doesn't feel the kind of tiredness that is result from sleeping badly. I guess I'll have to see a doctor and ask for some blood tests. But I think it's nothing serious. Probably just a low hemoglobine or so.

There's a bumblebee hiding in a flower! Do you find in which one? 8-)

There was an exciting Saturday a week ago. Ruu went to his first sleepover at his grandparents while me and Teemu went to a friend's housewarming party and had some relationship-quality time (without the child) at the very first time since Ruu was born. It was fun and everything had gone ok with Ruu. :) Though when we came home I started missing my baby-boy so badly! I stood in the doorway of his room for a long while feeling wistful and the whole room smelled like him! Oh well, that is probably just normal mother behaviour... ;)

I baked some cake pops to the housewarming party!

Yesterday I did some decoing for a long time (for definately TOO long, it had been almost 1 and a half year without any deco-times!!) at two of my great deco swapping friends'. :3

For those who are wondering what the heck I'm talking about, here is a short summary: Decos (or decorative friendship books) are small selfmade booklets that are mailed from penpal to penpal. Decos travel the world, going from one decorator to another. Each decorator or signer adds their work to a single blank page of the deco, and then passes it along to the next person. In traditional deco swapping, there is no set list of people to whom a deco will be passed, so you never know who will work in your book, or when it will be completed and arrive back home. Decos are all about making something beautiful. (Origin: http://gomakesomething.com/ht/thebasics/decos101/ )

It was SO much fun and I'll must make some deco-entries soooon again! I was missing that kind of activity, but as a mother of a young child it's sometimes hard to find own time to do the favourite things one used to do before..

Here's what I achieved ("Ralla" is my nickname used in decos):

"Ralla ...clear pleasure! - The Havi palm soap"
The photos and texts are from the same ad in an old magazine.
The facial expression of the man is priceless, I think :D

"Real tickets"-entry

Eeeerm... A pornish entry to a Queer-themed deco.
Didn't quite end up the way I wanted, bleh.

Some more treasures from old women's magazines...
"Is it forbidden - from young girls?"

And this is the end of this post. Have a wonderful week!
